Earthquake Insurance

Typically, conventional homeowners or most business policies do not cover buildings or their contents against damages caused by earthquakes. In part, this is often due to the fact that the property and casualty policies include a relatively high deductible on each occurrence. This means that in effect there is no earthquake insurance or the insurance company pays out only a small sum relative to the damage an earthquake can cause.
